Specialist expert in Paediatric Physiotherapy. Kelly has worked in various in-patient and community neurological settings both in the NHS and privately. She has a particular interest in working with children with developmental delay and complex neurological conditions, such as cerebral palsy and acquired brain injuries.
Kelly has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is able to adapt her communication to suit the needs of the child and family; she has basic makaton training and a good awareness of alternative and augmentative communication methods. Kelly is Bobath trained and is highly specialised in the area of neurological disability. She also has expert skills in manual handling assessments and hydrotherapy.
She has a keen interest in 24-hour postural management and is adept at providing functional positions to enhance a child’s ability and engagement in activities of daily living. Kelly has a wide experience of working in conjunction with other therapists and children’s services to provide a high quality service to children and their families.
Kelly is passionate, energetic and forward thinking in her practice and understands the important of engaging children in their therapy to achieve long-term goals.
